HETI supports the organisation and administration of a central interview location, and document collation for JMO Annual Medical Recruitment.  Information regarding JMO recruitment for 2026 will be made available on the JMO Recruitment website when it becomes available.

Some JMO positions may also be advertised on an ad-hoc basis, as vacancies arise throughout the year.

JMO Recruitment for the 2027 Clinical Year

NSW Health co-ordinates an Annual Junior Medical Officer Recruitment Campaign where the majority of vocational and non-vocational positions are advertised for the following clinical year.  Most applicants who are recruited into a JMO position in the NSW public health system apply via the campaign.  This recruitment is conducted online through the NSW Health JMO ROB system.

Rural Pathway Information Evening

Work is progressing to establish a NSW Basic Physician Training Rural Pathway for trainees applying to commence BPT in the 2027 clinical year through the current AMR campaign. The pathway is intended to provide a structured rural training option within existing NSW BPT networks, with further planning currently underway.

A virtual information session will be held for trainees to provide further details about the proposed model, anticipated pathway structure, and key considerations to assist with decision-making ahead of submitting their applications. Please see details below for the information evening:
