Basic Life Support - Adult

Description

Welcome to the eLearning module Adult Basic Life Support which is mandatory dependant on role.

As a health care worker, you must be given the opportunity to maintain current skills and knowledge in Basic Life Support. The aim of this module is to familiarise participants with the Australian Resuscitation Council requirements for preparing Adult Basic Life Support. Refer to your LHD Manager/Supervisor for guidance regarding the frequency of completing this module and practical assessments required.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

On successful completion of this module you will be able to:

  • List the steps in the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) flowchart to provide Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Outline the steps involved in the DRSABCD Basic Life Support flowchart
  • Apply the BLS DRSABCD algorithm to a simulated scenario

Audience

This course is applicable for all staff (clinical and/or non clinical) that are deemed appropriate by the Local Health District (LHD) to complete this training and may qualify for up to 0.5 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
