Welcome to Newborn - Basic Life Support Assessment Tool.

All clinical staff attending births must be trained and proficient in newbron basic life support. This practical assessment tool follows the 2016 ANZCOR Newborn Basic Life Support  algorithm. Assessment must demonstrate competency in newborn basic life support using correct techniques, meeting the stated performance criteria. This assessment is conducted at the LHD/SHN level by a suitably qualified assessor in a simulated environment.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

To be observed performing Newborn Basic Life Support using the correct technique and meeting all stated criteria in the assessment.

Audience

This practical session is designed for doctors, midwives, registered and enrolled nurses and paramedical staff and may qualify for up to 0.5 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
