This module is intended for clinical workers who are not specialised in aged care or mental health.

This is an introductory module providing you with information to assist you assess and respond to your patient, understand your patient and accept your role in managing the issue.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

At the end of this module you will be able to:

• Recognise signs and symptoms of dementia and delirium
• Distinguish between demntia and delirium
• Have awareness of screening tools, assessment and referral processes required for dementia and delirium
• Understand how to initiate a response using patient centred principles

Audience

This course is applicable for all clinical workers who are not specialised in aged care or mental health and may qualify for up to 0.5 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
