Supporting healthy babies & children

Description

The primary concern of this module is the promotion of physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing in early childhood, through the development and support of parenting skills. The module initially starts by ‘stepping back’ into the antenatal period and considering birth planning for women introduced as case studies in the previous module.  After birth, the progress of women and their babies is described by highlighting aspects such as infant nutrition, exposure to smoking, child safety, oral and ear health, safe sleeping and immunisation, supported by factual information and strategies for practice.
