Welcome to the eLearning module Care of the Bariatric Patient.

This module provides an interactive learning experience on the principles involved when caring for the bariatric patient.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

On completion of this module you will:

• Recognise the patient who has special needs due to obesity
• Incorporate sensitive care delivery involving dignity and respect
• Utilise safe work practice during manual handling
• Recognise multidisciplinary team involvement during care coordination

Audience

This course is designed for all NSW Health Staff employees who care for the bariatric patient (nursing, midwives, medical, allied health employees, and may qualify for up to 0.4 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
