Medical Graduate Recruitment

The Medical portfolio at HETI manages the applications and allocation of medical graduates across the NSW prevocational training networks. Applications for intern positions are completed online via the Prevocational Training Application Program (PTAP). There are four pathways available for medical graduates.

Recruitment Pathways

There are four recruitment pathways available to obtain a medical internship in NSW. Eligible applicants can apply via one or more of the pathways.

The Aboriginal Medical Workforce Recruitment pathway in NSW is for Aboriginal medical graduates.

The Rural Preferential Recruitment pathway is for medical graduates wanting to work in a rural setting within NSW. This is a merit-based recruitment process. All applications are made via PTAP and eRecruit. Click for more information.

The Direct Regional Allocation pathway is for medical graduates seeking positions in regional NSW and Sydney outer metropolitan prevocational training networks.

This is the main recruitment pathway. Medical graduates who meet the requirements of the NSW Health Priority List are eligible to apply through the optimised allocation pathway.
