Foundations: Working in Culturally Diverse Contexts

Description

Welcome to the eLearning module Working in Culturally Diverse Contexts.

NSW Health is committed to the Principles of Multiculturalism. The provision of health services to multicultural communities, including refugees, is based on two policy principles which are enshrined in NSW legislation:

Equality of access to health care services for culturally and linguistically diverse populations (The Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).

The responsibility of the health care system to respond appropriately to the specific needs of different groups in the community which include people from culturally diverse backgrounds (Community Relations Commission and Principles of Multiculturalism Act 2000 and the Mental Health Act 1990).

A certificate is issued on completion.
