Welcome to the eLearning module Basic Life Support - Newborn.

This module covers how to recognise and respond in a healthcare environment to a newborn requiring resuscitation. It follows the Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) Newborn Life Support algorithm.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

On completion of this module you will be able to:

• recognise the unique physiological transition from intrauterine to extrauterine life
• recognise and respond appropriately to a newborn requiring resuscitation following the Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) Newborn life support algorithm in a healthcare environment

Audience

This module is designed for doctors, midwives, registered/ enrolled nurses, paramedical staff and may qualify for up to 0.6 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
