Welcome to the "Assessing the need for an interpreter" module.

This is one of six video modules in the "How to use healthcare interpreters" series.   The focus of this module is to assess the need for using an interpreter in a healthcare setting.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• Assess the need for using an interpreter in healthcare settings.
• Identify the negative consequences of not accurately assessing if a healthcare interpreter is required in healthcare settings

Audience

This module is applicable for all frontline NSW Health staff and may qualify for up to 10 mins of Continuous Professional Development.
