Hand Hygiene

Description

Welcome to the eLearning module Hand Hygiene.

Effective Hand Hygiene is the single most important strategy in preventing health care associated infections.

Hand Hygiene is a general term referring to any action of hand cleansing. It includes:

  1. Washing hands with the use of a water and soap or a soap solution, either non-antimicrobial or antimicrobial  OR
  2. Applying a waterless antimicrobial hand rub to the surface of the hands (e.g. alcohol-based hand rub).

When performed correctly, hand hygiene results in a reduction of microorganisms on hands.

Note: There are 4 assessments in the module. You must gain a score of 100% score in all assessments in order to successfully complete this module.

Please note that if you fail any of the tests you will need to complete all of the tests again on your next attempt, regardless of whether they are displaying as completed in the module, otherwise the module will not record your completion.
