Welcome to the eLearning module Smoking & Vaping in Pregnancy Part A.

This module aims to increase your understanding about the risks of smoking and vaping in pregnancy and the barriers people face to quitting. This module introduces the best practice model of brief intervention using Ask, Advise, Help... this will be expanded on in Part B.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

After completing this module, learners will be able to:

  • recognise the risks for both mother and baby and the benefits of quitting
  • explain the barriers to quitting smoking that pregnant women face.

Audience

This course is designed for antenatal service providers in NSW Health including midwives, child and family nurses, early childhood nurses, drug and alcohol workers, Aboriginal health workers. This may qualify for up to 0.2 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
