Program activities

The Professional Development Program (PDP) known as 'Strengthening Foundations' offers a culturally inclusive overview of Aboriginal Maternal and Child and Family Health topics for workers in AMIHS and BSF programs. The PDP consists of:

• One Strengthening Foundations workshop
• Four eLearning modules

The program includes culturally responsive health care education within a primary health care framework, tailored to the needs of Aboriginal families and communities that:

• delivers education, training and support tailored to diverse learning and communication styles, using a range of methods including face-to-face, group workshops, online learning e.g. modules, webcasts.
• facilitates the development of supportive, responsive, and professional networks.
• promotes the AMIHS and BSF programs, emphasising the importance of equitable working relationships between clinical specialists and Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners.
