Guest speaker: Adongwot Manyoul, Cultural Consultant

Adongwot Manyoul is a cultural consultant, public speaker and Churchill Fellow whose work focuses on cultural intelligence, cultural safety and inclusive leadership. She has worked across government, corporate, education and not-for-profit sectors, supporting leaders and teams to engage more thoughtfully with issues of race, bias, power, and culture, and to embed practical strategies that support long-term cultural change.

Dr Emily Kirkpatrick is an Associate Professor at Adelaide University and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning. A medical practitioner, health administrator and company director, she has also served as South Australia’s Deputy Chief Public Health Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and COVID Community Commander, and led statewide health reform in South Australia during the pandemic.

Workplace Belonging in an Age of Disconnection: Generative AI, Hybrid Work and Loneliness

Generative AI, hybrid work and changing work patterns are reshaping how we connect and experience belonging at work. This session explores the growing impact of loneliness and disconnection, and the critical implications for health leaders.  Dr Joseph Crawford, University of Tasmania, draws on current research to help NSW Health leaders understand what the evidence tells us about belonging, with practical strategies to create more connected, inclusive and high-performing workplaces.

Leadership Insights support leaders to navigate increasing complexity, adapt to change and build the capabilities needed to lead effectively in a rapidly evolving health landscape. Topics align with NSW Health strategic priorities, including building positive and inclusive work environments, strengthening diversity, empowering staff and supporting a sustainable healthcare system that responds to the needs of patients, carers and communities.

Audience

Leadership Insights are designed for senior leaders and managers across NSW Health in clinical and non-clinical roles. While the events are targeted towards senior leaders, all staff interested in strengthening their leadership practice are welcome to enrol.

Format

Sessions are delivered as virtual webinars, typically 90 minutes in duration, and include a keynote presentation with interactive elements such as polls or Q&A.

Sessions are recorded and uploaded to My Health Learning as part of HETI’s commitment to providing accessible education to NSW Health staff across all roles and settings.
