Supporting professional development and enhancing capability

HETI have partnered with the Health Social Policy Branch in the Ministry of Health and NSW Department of Education to develop education and training for Wellbeing Nurses in NSW Health.

Wellbeing Nurses provide health and wellbeing care to school students, families and school communities. The NSW Health Wellbeing Nurse Capability Framework 2024-2029 has been designed to support the professional development of nurses working towards or within the NSW Health Wellbeing and Health In-reach Nurse (WHIN) Coordinator Program.

Developed with expert Wellbeing Nurses across NSW Health Local Health Districts, the NSW Health Wellbeing Nurse Capability Framework 2024-2029 serves as a valuable resource for professional development plans, workforce development and service planning, as well as addressing targeted Wellbeing Nursing education and training needs.

Together with the Wellbeing Nurse Learning Navigator (on My Health Learning), these resources aim to enhance the capability of Wellbeing Nurses, enabling the development of Wellbeing Nursing from foundation to proficient levels.
