HETI Leads the Way as Accredited CPD Home for NSW-Based Junior Doctors

HETI proudly announces its accreditation by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and approval by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) as a dedicated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Home for doctors. In response to the CPD requirements introduced by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the MBA effective 1 January 2023, HETI offers a specialised platform for doctors, ensuring compliance with CPD requirements that began on 1 January 2024.

HETI's CPD Home is uniquely designed for NSW-based doctors not affiliated with a specialty college, with a specific focus on those in their early years of practice, from PGY3 and onwards, primarily within NSW Health. By fulfilling all accreditation requirements set by the AMC, HETI provides its members with individually tailored support and guidance in crafting a personalised and comprehensive professional development plan.

HETI Medical Director, Dr Claire Blizard says, “Recognising the crucial role of junior doctors, who often provide essential patient care, including after-hours coverage in Emergency Departments, HETI addresses a critical gap in their continuing professional development. The HETI CPD Home offers support and guidance for this vital group of doctors.”

The annual fees for HETI's CPD Home are set at approximately $550, offering an accessible and valuable resource for junior doctors seeking comprehensive support for their professional growth. The initiative anticipates a substantial number of potential applicants, estimated to be in the several thousand range.

HETI invites doctors in their early years of practice, particularly those not in accredited training pathways, to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their professional journey. For more information and to join, visit the heti.nsw.gov.au/cpdhome.
