The Training Support Unit (TSU) presents the first 2026 Jumbunna webinar focused on supporting Aboriginal sexual health care.

About the webinar

The webinar will focus on sexual health and culturally safe care, with a detailed review of the latest updates to the Syphilis in Pregnancy and Newborns Policy Directive.

Featuring leading NSW Health subject matter experts, the session will provide insights into recent policy changes, including their implications for clinical practice and community health. Through a cultural lens, we will explore how these updates may affect Aboriginal families and communities, highlighting the importance of culturally responsive approaches in providing safe and effective sexual health care.

Participants will gain practical knowledge and strategies through presentations, a panel discussion, and an interactive questions and answers session with experienced practitioners.

Topics include:

  • Syphilis and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs): policy updates, current trends, and health promotion activities
  • Sexual health screening updates: what’s new and what you need to know
  • Culturally responsive care: practical approaches to support Aboriginal families

Whether you are a health professional, educator, or community advocate, this webinar offers valuable perspectives to strengthen your practice and improve sexual health outcomes.
