The NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) is strongly committed to the continuing professional development of nurses and midwives working in NSW Health and has engaged the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) to oversee the NSW Nursing and Midwifery Education Scholarship Program - Graduate Certificate Courses.
Under this scholarship program, there are ten graduate certificate courses funded by the MoH. HETI manages the provision of these courses with support from the Nursing and Midwifery Office (NaMO).
HETI collaborates with Local Health Districts (LHDs) and Specialty Health Networks (SHNs) as well as with education providers to deliver the scholarship program. The current education providers are the University of Tasmania and the Australian College of Nursing.
Meanwhile, HETI has overall responsibility for governing, administrating and managing the scholarship program. As such, the Governance and Steering Committee (GSC) has been established for this purpose. The GSC is facilitated by HETI, which meets 6 monthly to review and discuss the ongoing process for managing the current scholarship program.
