Course Overview

This workshop builds on the knowledge acquired in workshop #4 “Introduction to Shielding”.

Lectures will cover:

The Developing Shielding Plans workshop builds on the knowledge learnt at the Introduction to Shielding workshop.

This workshop will have three sessions:

Session 1 will review DR Room shielding plan from the Introduction to Shielding workshop and give a worked example for CT Shielding Plan

Session 2 will introduce shielding concepts for unsealed sources

Session 3 will consider Department Design and construction and discuss the assignment required to be completed for 3rd shielding workshop: Department Design, Complex Design and Construction Workshop

Workshop prerequisites:

To attend the workshop you are required to have attended Introduction to Shielding workshop and attempted the
assignment. Participants should bring the BIR Radiation Shielding Diagnostic Radiology report and a laptop to the
workshop.
