Workshop 3 - Radiation Protection
12-16 AUGUST 2019
This five day Radiation Protection course has been developed to support training in the principles of safe use of radiation in hospitals. The course is primarily targeted at hospital physicists working in the field of radiation protection. However, medical physicists, technologists and medical specialists who want to expand their knowledge in the field will also find value in this course.
Included in this five day course are two half-day practical sessions. The practical sessions are structured to encourage course attendees to reflect on the knowledge they have acquired during the lectures and assist them to apply this knowledge in their day-to-day practice.
The lectures and practical sessions are presented by radiation safety experts who work in healthcare and with regulatory bodies. These include lecturers who have contributed to the development of international, national and state radiation protection best practice.
The course is suitable for Medical Physicists, Medical Physics Registrars, Radiology Registrars and healthcare professionals interested in radiation and governance.
This five day course runs from Monday 12 August to Friday 16 August.
All course participants will receive a copy of Practical Radiation Protection in Healthcare 2nd Edition, edited by Colin J Martin and David G Sutton.
