Medical Administration Training Program

HETI is working in partnership with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA), Local Health Districts (LHDs) and training providers to implement a networked program for medical administration trainees. The training network will enhance the delivery and quality of training, and support the provision of accessible state-wide educational resources. It will facilitate educational benefits such as training forums and courses, state-wide eLearning and blended learning initiatives.

To be eligible to apply for Medical Administration training, Junior Medical Officers must have at least three years of postgraduate clinical experience.

First Steps Towards Network Training

In late 2012 and early 2013, HETI approached the LHDs and other training providers to advocate for the development of the networked training program. As a result of their support, the network started in 2014 with 7 positions across a range of locations. HETI supports the Medical Administration Training Program by coordinating annual centralised recruitment for existing and new positions with a single interviewing panel and preference matching for the intake every year.
