Rural Generalist Nurse Program: Comprehensive Assessment

Description

Welcome to the Rural Generalist Nurse Program: Comprehensive Assessment.

The Rural Generalist Nurse works across a multitude of health areas, and is required to provide comprehensive care across the age spectrum, often without immediate access to key health care professionals.

In this learning game you will be in charge of a small rural MPS. Your challenge is to correctly diagnose, treat and transfer patients by using the principles of comprehensive assessment. The patients are different each time you play, and your score will be based on the decisions you make.

This game is one of five resources in the Rural Generalist Nurse Program. Other resources are available in the areas of aged care, paediatric care, palliative care and mental health.

A certificate is issued on completion.

Objectives

After completing this game you will be able to conduct an A-G assessment of a patient, including treatment interventions and transfers at appropriate points of time.

This game is different than most resources in HETI Online, and you may find it more challenging and complex. Please keep in mind that you may need to play the game several times to learn how to play and successfully transfer the patients. You may want to play with tips on your first few attempts.

Audience

This course is applicable for all NSW Health Clinical Staff and may qualify for up to 2 hrs of Continuous Professional Development.
