NSW Rural Allied Health Clinical Placement Grants

Open 23 Jan 2023 to 7 Apr 2023
Placement grants of up to $750 (or $1,000 for placements at Broken Hill) are offered each semester. Grants are awarded on the basis of the duration of the placement and the cost of travel associated with accessing the placement.
Priority will be given to students who have not previously received a NSW Rural Allied Health Clinical Placement Grant, though past grant recipients may apply.
Eligible area
The term “rural” refers to areas covered by rural Local Health Districts:
- Far West
- Western NSW
- Northern NSW
- Mid North Coast
- Murrumbidgee
- Southern NSW
- Hunter New England (excluding: Cessnock, Maitland, Port Stephens, Newcastle, and Lake Macquarie LGA)
- Illawarra Shoalhaven (excluding: Kiama, Wollongong and Shellharbour LGA)
- Nepean Blue Mountains (Lithgow LGA only)
When to apply
Grants are limited to one applicant per calendar year, for placements between 1 November 2022 - 31 January 2024
Funding 1: Applications open on 23 January 2023 and close on 7 April 2023 for placements starting no earlier than 1 November 2022 and finishing no later than 31 January 2024.
Funding 2: Applications open on 3 July 2023 and close on 8 September 2023 for placements starting no earlier than 1 November 2022 and finishing no later than 31 January 2024.
