Clinical placements form a practical and important part of your education as a health professional and as part of your studies you may be required to undertake a clinical placement in a NSW Health facility.
In undertaking a clinical placement you may need to interact with other students, staff, and patients, and you will therefore need to take appropriate steps to ensure you are verified to work in a NSW Health facility just like NSW Health employees. This requirement is for your own safety, as well as the safety of staff and patients.
Failure to achieve verification will mean that you will be unable to attend a clinical placement at a NSW Health facility and this could impact on your studies.
The Greater Metro Interdisciplinary Clinical Training Networks (ICTN) and the Health Education & Training Institute have made three short videos to provide you with information to help you meet your verification requirements.
Most students start the process immediately and do not have a problem in achieving verification.
If you encounter any problems along the way, please contact your educational institution for further guidance.
