The goal of the HETI Medical Superguide is to help supervisors deliver: safe and quality patient care through performance monitoring; increased learning and knowledge; and the welfare of the junior clinician.

Prevocational Education and Training Accreditation Standards

The Prevocational Education and Training Accreditation Standards set out the standards for facilities providing prevocational medical education and training. It provides information that supports the standards and clearly sets out the expectations HETI has for how the accreditation standards should be met.

Unified Education Series for PGY1

The Unified Education Series was created by the JMO Forum. The topics listed are ordered so that common clinical problems are dealt with during the first part of the year, and to ensure that trainees rotating through hospitals will not miss crucial sessions.

Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors

The Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors (the 'Curriculum Framework') outlines the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of prevocational doctors (PGY1, PGY2 and above) in order to work safely in Australian hospitals and other healthcare settings.

The Intern Training - Start of Term Form

This form is designed to help facilitate orientation and the first discussion between and intern and Supervisor. It should be completed in the first week of commencing a new term.

The following Forms and Templates are produced by HETI and may be useful to those involved in prevocational education and training or accreditation.  

Annual Report on Accreditation Status 

The Annual Report on Accreditation Status template is required to completed and submitted by Providers for their annual report each year on the anniversary of their accreditation (excluding years when the Provider has a survey).

NSW Prevocational Training Term Description Template

A Term Description Template must be completed for each accredited term, terms will not be accredited unless they are on the template. The Term Description Template should ideally be completed in conjunction with the Guide to Completing the NSW Prevocational Training Term Description Template.

Prevocational Education and Training Accreditation Survey Report 

The Prevocational Education and Training Accreditation Survey Report document is used by Providers for their self-assessment prior to their accreditation survey as well as the Survey Teams assessment of a Provider at survey. The PAC then reviews this report and makes a decision regarding the Providers’ accreditation.

Mid Term Appraisal Form

The Mid-Term Appraisal Form is completed by the JMO and their supervisor, after supervisor discussions with other staff working with the JMO, at the mid-way point of each term.

Improving Performance Action Plan (IPAP) 

The Improving Performance Action Plan (IPAP) form is used to aid in documenting the remediation process for JMOs. This form is to be completed by supervisors in consultation with the DPET to address identified issues that require remediation.

End of Term Assessment Form

The End of Term Assessment Form is completed by the JMO and their supervisor, after supervisor discussions with other staff working with the JMO, at the end of each term.
