HETI aims to support the recruitment, retention and clinical skill development of the rural and remote medical workforce within the NSW Public Health System.
Scholarships of up to $4,500 are now available to provide financial assistance with course fees, travel, accommodation and other expenses directly associated with the education and training needs of medical trainees in rural and remote areas.
In order to qualify for the HETI Rural Medical Trainee Scholarship, applicants must be:
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
- Currently employed under the Public Hospital Medical Officers Award with a contract of nine months or greater, working full-time or part-time as a prevocational or vocational medical trainee in a rural location (MMM3-MMM7) within the NSW public health system.
- Supported by their Network Director of Training or Line Manager.
