HETI aims to support equity of access to education and training for NSW Health prevocational and vocational medical trainees working in rural or remote areas.
Scholarships of up to $4,500 are now available to provide financial assistance with course fees, travel, accommodation and other expenses directly associated with the education and training needs of medical trainees in rural and remote areas.
In order to qualify for the HETI Rural Medical Trainee Scholarship, applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- Accessing a CPD activity requiring travel of a distance greater than 150 kilometres from current locality and;
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and;
- Directly employed by NSW Public Health System under the Public Hospital Medical Officers Award with a contract of nine months or greater, working full-time or part-time as a prevocational or vocational medical trainee in a rural location (MMM3-MMM7) according to the Modified Monash Model.
- Supported by their Network Director of Training or Line Manager.
