The People Management Skills Program (PMSP) is a course for current and aspiring NSW Health managers who want to improve their people management skills and performance.
The People Management Skills Program facilitates the development of the eight core skills that serve as building blocks for effective staff and stakeholder management:
Effective people management facilitates the creation of positive working environments that enhance patient care. The course is targeted to clinical and operational health managers at all organisational levels, as well as employees acting in or aspiring to roles with people management responsibilities.
Blended learning utilises action-based learning, specific work-based projects and coaching to enable participants to apply new knowledge, practice emerging skills and reinforce new behaviour. It also has the additional advantages of minimising time away from the job and enabling self-directed learning supported by online materials available 24/7.
The PMSP Blended Course requires attendance at face-to-face workshops and evidence of workplace implementation. Face-to-face sessions are supported by eLearning modules that reinforce people management theories and provide practical examples of how these can be applied in the workplace.
Face-to-face workshops will be held at locations throughout New South Wales.
